ergason Patent Properties (FPP) is an intellectual property development and licensing company, founded in 2001 by inventor Dr. James L. Fergason, a pioneer in the field of liquid crystal displays and one of the leading American independent inventors. Initially, he assigned a portfolio of more than 35 issued U.S. patents and foreign counterparts to the company, the majority of them related to electronic displays and liquid crystal technology. The company has continued to expand and develop its IP and maximizes the value of the FPP patent portfolio to licensees by providing technical support services and creating or acquiring related and synergistic intellectual property including Trademarks and Copyrights.

Dr. Fergason is a world renowned pioneer of modern liquid crystal technology and a prolific inventor of electronic displays with more than 100 patents. He has been widely recognized and honored for his numerous contributions to display technology. In 2006 he was recognized as a leading American inventor with the annual MIT Lemelsen Prize. In 2008 the IEEE recognized him as one of the independent inventors of the LCD.

Jeffrey K. Fergason
Managing Director
Jeffrey Fergason is the chief executive officer of FPP. He is also the founder and CEO of two other high tech companies: 1) I-O Displays, a leading manufacturer of personal and stereographic displays, and 2) Razor Digital Entertainment, a media distribution company. Earlier in his career he led a series of companies that developed liquid crystal shutter eye protection devices used in the welding industry.

Mr. McLaughlin has worked with Dr. Fergason since the inception of FPP. He has been immersed in the display industry for nearly 30 years, first as a founder and CEO of display start up companies and since 1992 as principal of McLaughlin Consulting Group, a leading display industry market and technology resource.
