Chinontec Licenses Fergason Patents Related to High Dynamic Range
Menlo Park CA, June 15, 2007 Chinontec Industries, Inc. and Fergason Patent Properties (FPP) announced the completion of a licensing agreement under which FPP has licensed certain rights related to U.S. patents 5,717,422 and 6,816,141 to Chinontec. The patents and IP relate to System Synchronized Brightness Control (SSBC™) technology that is used to simultaneously adjust lamp brightness and color and increase the shades of color levels in a video signal to improve the dynamic range and contrast in projectors and LCDs.
Chinontec has introduced several new projection engine products integrating the SSBC features to its customers who are major branders and manufacturers of front and rear projection systems.

Chinontec becomes the seventh licensee for SSBC IP, a group that includes Panasonic, LG.Philips LCD, Seiko Epson, Sharp, and Samsung.
